Academic Booster Club

?The Academic Booster Club enables the school system to recognize the outstanding achievements of students and teachers by presenting them with tangible rewards. This type of recognition promotes continued dedication to academic excellence among students and a strong commitment to a job well done among teachers.

The Superintendent's Academic Awards program recognizes and rewards the top ten students academically in grades 10 through 12 in each high school and the Magnet School. These students are presented with certificates, a savings bond, and a special gift. The seniors also receive a special plaque and recognition as an Academic Scholar during their high school graduation ceremony.

Partners in Education

?The Partners-in-Education is a mutually supportive arrangement between a business/organization and a school. The primary goal is to strengthen and enrich instructional programs in the school to enhance the educational experiences of students. The partners agree to specific goals and activities for the benefit of students. The most valuable contribution a business/organization can make is providing employees to be involved in the schools. All projects and activities must support the program's objectives and the development of all children. There are basically three variations of partnerships in operation in the Rockdale County Public Schools:

  • School-Business Partners | where a school and a business or organization develop and implement a comprehensive plan of action within one school
  • Partners-at-Large | where a business or organization works with a specific program, curriculum, or group across several schools
  • Special Events Partners | where a business or organization contributes to or sponsors a specific project or event.

Foundation for Excellence in Education

?Formed in 1988 as a vehicle to attract funds for educational programs and projects not covered in the school system's regular budget, the Rockdale Foundation for Excellence in Education (RFEE), has created a partnership between the school system and the community at large. In addition, the Foundation has funded creative and educationally beneficial activities through their Grant Program, provided teachers with opportunities to participate in continuing education, and recognized outstanding achievements by students and educators.

Golden Cards

?Since the early 1990s, RCPS has issued a Gold Card to Rockdale County citizens who are 65 years of age and over, to citizens who are permanently disabled, to retired RCPS teachers, and to youth ministers.  This card permits the holder to attend any regular season school activity free of charge.  The school system is once again extending this offer.  RCPS will administer one Gold Card per qualifying person or organization.

Our Gold Card is a way of saying "thank you" to our older community for the years they have steadfastly supported the children of Rockdale County.  Their support is invaluable, their wisdom is beyond measure.

To schedule an appointment to have your picture ID made so that your Gold Card can be issued, please call the Central Office at 770-483-4713.
